Ordering Process

At least 1 months notice is required when placing a cake order. Orders could possibly be taken at shorter notice depending on availability.

Minimum order amount

Wedding cakes - £125

Celebration cake - £55

Cupcakes - £15

Designs

When placing an order feel free to send me any design references such as colour samples, pictures, themes, textures etc.

A basic cake design sketch can be provided if required.

I am unable to copy someone else’s design for legal/artistic reasons but I can create something similar.

Due to copyright infringement I am unable to produce cakes which ask for an inclusion of copyrighted characters.

Consultations and Tasting sessions

Deposits

I will hold a date for 24 hours only, in which time the deposit should be made to confirm the order.

Deposit variations -

Wedding cakes - require a deposit of £90

Celebration cakes/cupcakes - are to be paid in full when placing an order up to £90 then £90 deposit after that

Refunds and Transfers

All deposits are non refundable.

If you wish to change the date of your order your deposit will be transferred to the new date providing enough notice has been given.

Final Balance Payments

Final payments are due - Wedding cakes- 1 month before

- Celebration cakes/cupcakes - 2 weeks before (for orders over £90)

Payments can be made via direct bank transfer, Paypal or cash.

Non-Payments

If the client hasn’t paid in full by the due date the order will be assumed cancelled and they would loose their deposit.

If they pay after the due date, that date is only subject to availability and I have the right to refuse.

Changes to Orders

Design

Any requests to change the order need to be given as soon as possible.

Occasion date

If for any reason my client wishes to re-arrange the occasion date, I will be happy to accommodate that providing I have at least 1 months notice and is subject to my availability.

If I am already booked for the new requested date, no refund will be given on the clients deposit.

Cancellations

In the unlikely event that I will need to cancel your order, a full refund will be given

All cancelation requests by the client will need to be made in writing

Wedding cakes - No cancellations in the final month before delivery, if you do cancel unfortunately you will lose your full payment.

Celebration cakes/cupcakes - No cancellations in the 2 weeks before delivery, if you do cancel unfortunately you will lose your full payment.

Collections

If the client is collecting the order, I will inform them of a suitable time to collect and they would be required to sign a collection form.

Delivery

Delivery is free for wedding cakes with in a 5mile radius. After this delivery will be calculate at 60p per mile round trip.

Currently celebration cakes are collection only, If you are unable to collect please let me know as I may be able to arrange delivery for you.

Cake Collections

I am not liable or responsible for the cake once it has left my premises. You should prepare your vehicle so it is clean and free of items that could roll or slide into the cake. I do everything in my power to provide a well-structured cake, but please note that cakes are very fragile and break easily. Make sure to keep the cake level, drive carefully and slowly.

Set-up

I provide a set up for wedding cakes in which there is a fee from £20 depending on the size and complexity of the cake. The set up fee will be included in the final quote.

If the cake is to be set up by staff at the venue, I will explain how the cake is to be displayed and obtain a signature to verify that I have done so.

Cake Cutting

Wedding cakes should be cut into finger portions of 1" x 1" x 4" or 5"

Celebration cakes should be cut into Party portions of 1" x 2" x 4" or 5"

Outdoor Cake Display

The customer will be responsible for the location of the cake and will be responsible for a stable and levelled cake presentation table upon which the cake is to be displayed.

Please be aware that on a hot summers day conditions can melt chocolate, fresh cream and buttercream covered cakes and if they choose to order one, I cannot be held responsible for any mishaps.

Hired equipment

Cake stands can be hired for £15 over a 3 day hire period. On top of this you will need to leave a deposit of £30 which will be refunded to you on the safe return of the stand and all its parts or packaging.

Allergies

Please be sure to inform me of any allergies when placing your order. Any allergens in the cake will be clearly labeled on the front of the cake box. Whilst I take extreme care to minimize the risk of cross contamination, I can not guarantee my products are completely safe to consume for those with very sensitive allergies.

The customer is responsible for informing their guests of any allergy information accordingly and I can not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from consumption of the cake.

Quality and storage of your cake

Cupcakes can be stored in the supplied box for 2-3 days and uncut cakes can be stored in their supplied box for about 3-4 days. Cakes that have been cut should be stored in an airtight container to stop them from drying out.

Cakes are best enjoyed at room temperature and there is no need to store them in the fridge unless they contain fresh cream or cream cheese buttercream. It is not advised to put fondant covered cakes in the fridge as this can make them go sticky with condensation as they warm up.

Consuming the cakes after the advised time frame is at the customers discretion and, therefore, becomes their responsibility.

Right to the photographs of the cake

I keep the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs of customers cake or pictures in which they may be included. For, e.g., advertising, display, website and internet promotion, photographic contests, public display, cake industry publications, studio display, television advertising, magazine advertising

Right of Withdrawal

Force Mageure Clause (no ones fault that the cake cant go ahead) - they cant sue you and you do not have to refund them. Cake is canceled until you could perhaps go ahead with it at a later date

Non edible items

Some cakes may contain non edible items and it’s the customers responsibility to make sure they do not feed these to people

I do not sell the customers data to another buisness

The design that I come up with for my client is my copyright and they can not go ahead and use my design or sell it to someone else

Liability

The maximum I will ever pay out in a refund situation is 100% of the value of the cake and I accept no responsibility for any other loses beyond that

Refund policy for returned cakes

No refunds will be given after you have taken the cake with exception of it you have a complaint about a cake being dry or not baked correctly you have to return a sample of that cake that demonstrates the problem within 24 hours of the cake having gone to you. (I can then make the decision on weather I will give a full or partial refund depending on the severity of the problem)
